What we collect

When you submit a form on this site — a query, a meeting request, a request for proposal, a newsletter subscription, or registration to read a technical article — we collect the name, email address, telephone number, company and job title you enter, together with any message you write.

When you browse the site we record the page or article viewed, your IP address, your browser user-agent string and the referring page. Where you have previously submitted a form, these records are linked to you.

Why we collect it

• To answer your query, arrange a meeting, or prepare a proposal.
• To send briefings you have subscribed to.
• To understand which articles and practice pages are read, so we publish material that is actually useful.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

Cookies

This site sets cookies to remember that you have registered (registered_lead, lead_id) and which articles you have already opened, so a repeat visit is not counted twice (post_views). Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the forms and gated articles will stop working as intended if you do.

Third parties

• Google Analytics — site usage measurement.
• Google reCAPTCHA — protects our forms from automated abuse; subject to Google's privacy terms.
• Google Fonts and a content delivery network serve fonts, stylesheets and images.
• DigitalOcean hosts the site and stores uploaded files.

How long we keep it

Enquiry and subscription records are kept while there is a live or prospective relationship, and thereafter for as long as we are required to by law and by our professional obligations. Browsing records are kept in aggregate for site measurement.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from briefings using the link in any email. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to retain it. Write to [email protected].
